SAKURA PICNIC is QAY's annual potluck picnic party to celebrate spring with beautiful cherry blossoms (Sakura) at High Park. Let’s have a nice outdoor day with fun games, live music, and photo shooting. Bring your friends or partner, something to sit on and something to share with others.
This event is inspired by the tradition called Hanami in Japan. Hanami is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the beauty of flowers, "flower" in this case almost always meaning cherry blossoms (Sakura). In modern-day Japan, Hanami mostly consists of having an outdoor party beneath the cherry blossoms (Sakura) during daytime or at night.
