Queer Asian Youth (QAY) is proud to be a community partner for the Toronto premiere of Fruit Fly by H.P. Mendoza, who brought us "the surprise indie hit Colma: The Musical" in 2006.

Fruit Fly follows Bethesda, a Filipino adoptee and performance artist who moves to San Francisco to workshop and perform her show about the search for her birth parents. She finds herself moving into a commune of transient artists who help her navigate the art scene of her new home and quickly anoint her the unwanted label of "fag hag."

The film is to be screened at Innis Town Hall, 2 Sussex Avenue on November 12, 2009 (Thursday) at 7:30 PM.
